The basic documents
Almost every file starts with three documents: the transport document (bill of lading by sea, air waybill by air, consignment note by road), the commercial invoice and the packing list.
The invoice states the value and nature of the goods. The packing list details the contents of each package, with its weight and volume. This information must match from one document to the next: a discrepancy in weight or description delays the file.
Documents that depend on the goods
Depending on the nature and origin of the goods, other documents may be required: certificate of origin, pre-import declaration, phytosanitary certificate for plant products, insurance certificate. For an import, the signed customs value declaration (DEV) accompanies the detailed declaration.
For sea freight bound for Conakry, you will also need the Cargo Tracking Note (BSC, also known as ECTN). It is issued at the time of shipment, so raise it with your supplier or shipper as soon as you place the order.
How to send us your documents
Upload your scanned documents to your customer portal in PDF, JPEG or PNG format. Our team checks them and tells you what is missing, ideally before the goods arrive.
